Fall Break – Part 2

“Shop ’til You Drop” Fun!

Who goes to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area and doesn’t shop?  Certainly not me  🙂  Now, we were there 3 1/2 days and there was lots of shopping and good food.  We did some Christmas shopping so I can’t share pics here that would give away surprises.  And some stuff is just, well, stuff.  So these are just the highlights.

These are such fun. They fold flat when not in use. I love the colors and grains of beautiful woods.

The 35th Annual Fall Craftsmen’s Fair was being held at the Convention Center celebrating art, crafts and music.  There were over 200 booths that ran the full range of arts and crafts.  What luck and such fun!  I picked up wooden salad/spaghetti tongs that fold flat when not in use.  I love the colors and grains of beautiful woods.

The Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community is an 8-mile loop of shops, studios, and galleries.  The scenery on the drive is just lovely.  Many of the shops are clustered together.  You can often watch artists at work in their studios.  I have a couple of favorite stops — Morning Mist Village and Alewine Pottery Center.  I may have gone a little crazy at Tahiti Beads.  This is just a sampling.  Lots of fun projects ahead!

These will make great pendants. I think I'm wearing the black stone on Monday.

These are destined to be stitch markers. I think . . . maybe . . . probably.

Two of our must visit places are in the Winery Square — Smoky Mountain Spinnery and Smoky Mountain Farms.  I hit the yarn store while DH stocked up on honey and jelly.
