The Heartland Lace Shawl is taking a little break. Last night I made it almost through the second repeat of Chart 2 and the count was wrong. After a little checking, the mistake was found, fixed and the shawl put away before I made a big mistake. I cannot knit lace when I’m tired. Unfortunately, I don’t always realize I’ve reached that point until I make a mistake.
So while the boys watched the new Terminator movie that T gave his dad for Christmas, I searched around for a little cross-stitch to keep me occupied. Here’s the progress from last night and a little bit of today. Can you guess what it is? Just kidding 🙂
It’s a chubby cheeked snowman, a free chart (January 2009) from Wichelt’s site here. I’m just starting back into stitching after many years off so I don’t have much of a stash to turn to. I’ve no doubt that will change soon enough 🙂 so I found an unidentified fabric scrap (14ct but no label) and pulled together colors that were similar to the picture. We’ll see how it goes.
Now, since the lace is resting and I’ve worked enough on the little snowman, I’m going to straighten up some of the blog pages and links. Tonight, I’ll start work on the Christmas Design SAL.
Hope you’re having a good day! Thanks for visiting!
