Car Knitting

We spent four hours in the car today.  I used to dread spending that much time cooped up.  But things change and now I see it as a gift of time — uninterrupted knitting, stitching, reading time.

This dishcloth made a nice portable project for today.  It’s the January cloth for the Monthly Dishcloths KAL group (Ravelry link).  A set of pattern rows are given out each day until the cloth is finished.  I won’t know the name of the pattern until the end — unless I can figure it out first.  Fun!

I’m a little behind so I thought car knitting would help me catch up.  I should have had twice as much finished except that after about 15 rows I found a mistake at the beginning that couldn’t be fixed.  So . . . rip, rip, start again.  It’s maybe a third of the way complete now.

And I was able to finish a third square of the Christmas Patchwork (for the Christmas Design SAL).  The little wreath was fun, but can I just tell you how much I dislike stitching white on white.   🙂   The next square is a cute snowman (more white on white) and I’d like to get a good start on that before the week ends.

The pictures aren’t the best but I’m still getting to know my new camera.  I’m learning!

I’m at a cross roads on the Heartland Lace shawl.  Do I do another repeat of the Bison Tracks before starting the River of Life edging?  I only have one skein of yarn.  I’m headed to Ravelry to check out other projects and see if I can figure it out.

Thanks for visiting!

  1. I would give anything to have car knitting time — but it seems I’m invariably the one doing most of the driving these days!

If only I have a couple extra sets of hands and eyes!
