Faded Denim Shawl – Finished

Shawl #3 for 10 Shawls in 2010

Faded Denim Shawl
Pattern:
Weaver’s Wool Mini Shawl by Peggy Pignato
Yarn:  Bernat Softee Chunky in faded denim (2.6 skeins/426 yards)
U. S. size 11 circular needle
CO 1.11.10, BO 3.12.10

After seeing my first Weaver’s Wool Mini Shawl, I was asked to knit another with a few modifications — solid color, machine washable, a little longer on the arms and no eyelets.  I used a knit-front-and-back increase instead of the yarn overs, which made a really nice false rib look along the front edges.

I threaded a lifeline when I thought it might be the right length and then tried it out.  Added another repeat (20.5 repeats total) and used size 13 needles for an elastic bind off.  Pay no attention to the time between the cast on and bind off.  This is a simple shawl with a great fit and a quick knit (all garter stitch).  I got a little distracted with another shawl, a pair of socks, and some cross stitch in between start and finish.

I love the faded denim color; it just says “comfy”.  It’s soft and cuddly and warm — perfect!

Enjoy!
