In the Garden

Daylily Orange

It’s been raining most of the day here!  It started this morning with thunder, lightning and a deluge of rain.  The drive to work was interesting with lots of standing water on the roads.  This afternoon it’s settled into a nice gentle rain — just what the garden needed.  Although it’s knocked the petals off the roses, everything else seems to be enjoying the soaking.

The daylilies are thick and tall this year.  Each day, there’s been one bloom … then another … and one more until … beautiful orange flowers filled the gardens.

Did you see the little pink rose in the midst of all that orange?  Doesn’t that put a smile on your face on a rainy day?  It sure works for me  🙂

What kind of weather are you having?  Now that the flowers have gotten their rain, I’m hoping for sun tomorrow.

Enjoy your day!

  1. Beatutiful lilies. Rain about every other day in WNY too. Unfortunately for some snapdragons I put in a pot that doesn’t drain. Oh well, I guess you save some and lose some. I won’t use that pot again. Love your slide shows. Good job.

    1. Thanks, Rose. Sorry about your snapdragons. I’ve not had much luck growing those. Is there a secret?

  2. We had some heavy rain mixed with Thunder & Lightening I loved it sadly it didn’t last too long but the rain kept coming off & on then the Sun would shine.
