Last FO for 2010

One last finished knit for 2010 . . .

Duet by Linda Wilgus
from Knitty, Winter 2009
Caron Simply Soft Heather – deep plum
US size 6 needles

Duet is a lovely cowl that can also double as a hat if you lace a pretty ribbon through the top.  The yarn is much more deep and rich than what shows in the picture.  This was a fun “warm-up” knit for the Mystery 220 group on Ravelry.  Each month we’ll get clues for a different mystery project that requires 220 yards or less.  I’m looking to do a lot of gift knitting and stash busting with this group.  I already have my next two yarns and needles sitting in the basket waiting for the first clue for January’s colorwork project.

One last cross-stitch finish for 2010 — at least the stitching is finished.

This is Sampler Winter by Marika Belfiori, a freebie on her site.  I’m searching for some very tiny star buttons and then this will be ready to really finish.  I’m thinking a small pillow for the basket, but who knows.

Can you believe this is the last day of 2010?  This year has moved so quickly!  We met family for lunch yesterday so they could have a little extra time with T before he heads back to Athens.

I hope you have a very safe New Year’s Eve.  Thanks for spending a minute or two with me.  I always appreciate visits and comments.  See you in 2011!
