Knitting

FO Friday ~ Miss Terry

I’ve been so caught up in mystery knitting that I haven’t done a very good job of keeping projects up-to-date on the blog.  The mysteries have been loads of fun and I’ve finished a number of projects in a pretty short time.  Summer sun is calling (when it’s not blazing hot), T’s home and I’m ready to slow down a bit and work on some WIPs that I’ve ignored for too long.

But first . . . the last mystery FO . . .

Miss Terry (Ravelry link) was a mystery KAL (love ’em!) in the Criminal Knits group.  Isn’t she a beauty!

The third portion of the lace was a new experience for me — patterning on each row, knitting on the wrong side and purling on the right side and no charts.  I had to pay very close attention and wasn’t really sure how it would turn out.  With a mystery knit, you need to have faith     🙂        The shape is also a first for me so blocking was a challenge, but it didn’t take long to figure it out.  I added beads on the last section only (the pattern suggests them in the third section).  They match perfectly (second picture is the best match to color) and add some sparkle fun.  My mom fell in love with a purple shawlette I made last year, so this one is for her.  I LOVE it and I think she will too.

I’m joining up with Tami’s FO Fridays.  I’ll be heading over later today to check on other lovely finishes.

Thanks for visiting.  Enjoy your day!

  1. Your Miss Terry is beautiful, and you did an awesome job with the blocking! I’m not sure I could have managed a mystery knit with no chart. I’m really impressed!

  2. This is jaw-droppingly gorgeous, I love the shape—you did a completely amazing job blocking it! It’s so unique and elegant, and your mom is going to be head over heels for it.
