May Dishcloth KAL

Happy, Happy Friday!

The Knitabulls Podcast group on Ravelry is having a May Dishcloth KAL.  The timing has been perfect for me — a little break from sock knitting and a chance to replace some well-loved and worn cloths around the house.  I’ve finished two so far and the deadline has been extended to June 20th so I should be able to knit up a few more.

Knitted Paw Print Cloth by Rhonda K. White
Yarn:  Peaches & Creme — camel
Needles:  US 7
Finished size:
CO 5.18.12, BO 5.20.12

I’m really pleased with how well the design shows.  I added 2 stitches to each side for a larger border.  If I do this again, I’ll add a couple of rows to the top and bottom so all the borders are closer to the same size.  This is going in the gift box to be given to a special person later.

Copycat Dishcloth by Leah Michelle Designs
Yarn:   Lion Brand Cotton-Ease — violet
Needles:  US 8
Finished size:
CO 5.20 12, 5.21.12

This cloth really could not be easier and the yarn is so, so soft.  I’ll definitely be doing more.  On both cloths, the first stitch is slipped knit-wise and the last stitch purled to make a nice, neat edge.  I knit on this while I was visiting with my Mom and wasn’t paying close attention.  The stockinette bands ended up being different widths.  But hey, it’s a washcloth for me so not a problem.

You can find other finished projects at Tamis Amis.  I’m headed over in a bit to get some inspiration for my next project.

Enjoy the weekend and the Memorial Day holiday!
