With a couple of exceptions, I’ve been spinning every day since mid-May. I decided to start with my Louet top whorl spindle.
My first fiber was bare Peruvian wool that’s supposed to be a good fiber for beginners. I’ve spun about half and haven’t decided what to do with it just yet. I also have a Lacis bottom whorl spindle and used some of the remaining fiber to give it a try. I’m finding the bottom whorl more difficult. Not sure why.
Now I’m working with the polwarth that I purchased at the Fiber Festival and feel much better about the thinner yarn I’m getting this time. And the color — oh, I love the color. It’s interesting to watch the robin’s egg tones change as it spins.
My plan is to update my progress on Saturdays. I’m thoroughly enjoying the process and have so much to learn. If you have any advice, please share it with this beginner.
