Wow, I haven’t had a FO Friday post since June. Spinning for the Tour de Fleece took up much of my time in July. The Leaf and Flower Stole has demanded attention in order to be finished in time for the wedding.
Even so, I couldn’t resist the Ravellenic Games on Ravelry. I joined Team Knitabulls and entered the Toy Toss Event. I’ve completed three monster/toys so far.
Master Yoda
I adore Master Yoda! He was cast on during the Olympic Opening Ceremonies. His body was knit on a US 7 (4.5 mm) circular in Loops & Threads Impeccable fern green. I used magic loop and sewed the ears and arms on separately. His robe is Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice pearl mist. Lots of decreases after the armholes gave the robe a better fit and then I knit the hood according to the directions, mostly. For now, Yoda sits on the family room mantel but I think he’ll move to the desk and help J grade papers when school starts.
Russett Critter
The colors of this yarn (Loops & Threads Impeccable summerset) reminds me of the autumn orchard. I knit a flat bottom, picked up stitches and then knit the body in the round. Ears were added separately. One green and one yellow button for the eyes and a satin stitch nose. He’ looks perfect sitting in the apple basket in the craft room.
Jasper, the Window Cat
I decided to knit one last stuffie as a surprise for my mom. Bernat Jacquards (jasper jacquard) made it so easy to give this kitty some character. It’s so soft. First time I’ve used the plastic snap eyes. I LOVE little Jasper. My mom saw me knitting on this and said, “When you finish this one you can make one for me.” Surprise Mom!
So . . . three toys finished for Ravellenics and here’s my medal.
I had a great time knitting my little toys and watching so, so many Olympic competitions. I have one more small toy on the needles. Let’s see if I can get it finished by Sunday night. And then, back to the Leaf and Flower Stole.
As always, be sure to visit Tami for other FO Friday projects. Thanks for visiting. Enjoy your weekend!
Cute toys! Where’d you find the snap on eyes? I’m with your mom; the cat is so cute. Is there a pattern source?

Your creations are such fun. I really like Yoda but Jasper the window cat is my favourite, my daughter would love him.

Wow, these are all so cute! I was immediately drawn to Yoda, as a Star Wars nerd, but the cat is also pretty rockin’! Congrats on the medals!
