Hello Everyone! How did Wednesday sneak up so quickly? Some of the knitting this week has been holiday related and can’t be shared just yet. Most of the knitting since December 1 has been devoted to this year’s Advent Scarf KAL.
The Advent Calendar Scarf 2012 KAL is taking place on Ravelry (here). This is my third year to participate. The designer (Kristin Benecken) releases one lace pattern each day beginning December 1 and ending December 24. I love knitted lace and I love knitting lace. Every day I learn a new stitch or technique.
Today’s pattern brings us to the half-way point. Lightly stretched and pinned, the scarf is already 41 inches. Like last year, I’m reducing the width and length by adjusting the patterns as needed. And still it’s going to be long. In past years I’ve had to stop early because I ran out of yarn or the length became unmanageable. This year’s goal is to knit a bit of each day’s pattern and have all 24 days represented. I’m really pleased so far.
I finished Georgiana Darcy’s Diary yesterday, making 5 books read for the Fall Into Reading Challenge. Reading time is being eaten up with knitting right now. I did download a couple of free Christmas books for the Kindle this morning. Maybe one of those will be next.
Thanks for visiting and enjoy your Wednesday!
