Wow! It’s been three weeks since my last post. I’ve been battling a respiratory infection that just won’t go away. I’ve been low on energy and motivation to blog. I’m feeling much, much better now. Through it all I plugged away on knitting and I’m pleased to introduce my first sweater for 2013.
Low Tide Cardigan by tincanknits
Yarn :: Aslan Trends Santa Fe, 778 yds
Needles :: US 3 (3.25 mm) and US 4 (3.5 mm)
CO 12.31.12, BO 2.23.13
Modifications :: I followed the designer’s advice (in the pattern comments on Ravelry) and changed the front edging so it wouldn’t be quite so long and pointed at the bottom. I knit additional rows to lengthen the cap sleeves a bit.
The pattern calls for buttons at the edge of the lace portion. I’ve used a shawl pin (a gift from my DIL) and have some vintage buttons that might work well if I decided to do that. The photo really doesn’t do justice to this cardigan. This yarn is so hard to photograph and there hadn’t been much sun around when I got tired of waiting and took this picture. I LOVE this cardigan and yarn and couldn’t be more pleased. I’m definitely inspired to cast on for another sweater soon.

Have a great weekend!
