A spinning update is long overdue. The last spinning post that I can find was here, dated January 5. Sadly not much progress has been made since then.
I’ve been working on the BFL from Greenwood Fiberworks (in the pretty confetti colors in the basket) for quite a while. The first half is finished and the second half is started.
The BFL was set aside so I could join The Knit Girllls’ Expand Your Horizon (EYH) spinalongs every other month. January’s fiber focus was on Southdown (the white fiber above). I can’t explain why, but southdown and I just did not get along. I like to spin thin; southdown has a short staple and wants to be thicker. And after trying a couple of spindles, I put it away and decided to wait until I had more spinning experience.
March’s EYH fiber is Jacob (the dark, dark brown fiber in the basket). Jacob and I are getting along much better. The CD spindle seems to be a good weight and I’m trying to spin a little thicker than usual.
Not much information here, but I feel a little more caught up.

It has been pouring rain last night and today. Water is standing on the roads and in the park across the street. When I left for the dentist this morning, two ducks had flown in for a swim. Really.
Enjoy your day and, if you’re in the path of this storm, stay dry and safe.

maybe this week will be the week for spinning progress! Lovely top photo, I do not spin so I admire the skill. We are getting a snow storm!! News to me, I was kind of surprised.

I’m behind on my spinning and trying to finish the last 4 oz of my BFL, which is currently being plied. I can’t wait to see photos if your finished spinning 🙂

Hi, Tina. I wish I was close to plying any of my yarns. I need to finish something and I think it will be the Jacob.
