Tour de Fleece 2013 ~ Update #2

This is Day 17 of the Tour de France and Tour de Fleece.  A rest day for the riders and for the spinners.  Even though I’m taking a break from my spinning today, I wanted to share my first (and maybe only) skein for this year’s TdF.

This is my first fractal spin.  I love the colors and the way it barber-poled.  There are still a few thick and thin spots, but the plying helped a lot.  So, so soft.  I’m thinking it might become an open-work cowl or a pair of fingerless mitts.  Can’t wait to see how it knits up.

Just for fun, I made a collage of “start-to-finish”.

Since there’s no spinning today, I’ve been catching up in my Spinning Journal, making notes so I won’t forget the specifics.

Still trying to catch up on reading blogs.  I need a few more hours in the day.     🙂

Happy Monday!

  1. lovely! What a great idea to keep a notebook for spinning. I try my best to write down what I write for knitting and most of the time I do. But sometimes I forget.

    1. Thank you, Karen. I love looking back through my journals, especially the knitting and spinning. I often have to play catch-up because I get so wrapped up in the project. That’s what’s happened during the Tour.
