FO Friday ~ Confetti Cowl

Hooray for Friday!  I had errands to run this morning, so I’m a little late with my FO post.  It’s time to reveal the Confetti Cowl.

Pattern :: Downtown Cowl by Christy Becker
Yarn :: MY handspun    🙂
Needles :: US 6 (4 mm)

I think the pattern and yarn are a perfect match.  I love this so, so much.  The only problem is that I want to wear it . . . right now . . . and it’s way too warm for a wool cowl.

The handspun was finished during this year’s Tour de Fleece.  It’s Hand Painted BFL from Greenwood Fiberworks.  I cast on fewer stitches (184) using the Twisted German Cast On, followed all the rows of the pattern, and finished with Jeny’s Suprisingly Stretchy Bind Off.  The cast on edge isn’t quite as stretchy as the bind off edge.  Next time I’ll use the same cast on and go up one needle size.  The difference doesn’t really show or matter, except to me.  The pattern works so well with the thick and thin spots I still have with my handspun.  You can’t tell at all.

LOVE IT!  Did I say that already?     🙂

I’m linking up with Tammy for FO Friday so you can pop over and see what other goodies folks are sharing.

Enjoy your weekend!

  1. It looks just fabulous! Well done on the spinning and project. They do look like a delightfully wonderful match. Cheers 🙂

    LOL … maybe you could stash it in your purse or bag and then when out shopping for groceries, head to the freezer sections and throw it on for good measure and a test run 😉
