WIP Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!  It’s been a busy day and I’m posting later than usual, but I wanted to show you the two projects that have been getting the most attention this week.

At the top is the Teal Cardi.  The pattern is Annette by Hélène Rush.  It’s worked bottom to top and I’m almost to the underarm section.  The fishnet pattern is easy to memorize, simple but interesting at the same time.  I’m so pleased that this yarn (Araucania Ruca Solid) has finally found a pattern that makes it happy.  That makes me a happy knitter.     🙂

On the bottom is the beginning of the crocheted Mixed Stripey Blanket.  There was a CAL at Not Your Average Crochet over the summer and I’ve enjoyed watching Claire’s (of Mollie and Claire) progress.  Her pretty blanket has inspired me to start my own.  Most of these colors I’ve had in stash for a while and I was able to add a couple more with a quick trip to Hobby Lobby.  Now — don’t get too attached to the color sequence you see.  I’ve already ripped it out to start again.  Crazy, I know.  The Catherine Wheel section (blue and gray section) draws up way too much.  I’m going to go up a hook size (just for those 4 rows) and try again.  Fingers crossed.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

♥  Janet

    1. Thanks for the inspiration. After seeing your finished blanket, I had to start one. If I can stop ripping it out 🙂 it may be finished it time to be gifted for Christmas.

  1. Delightful WIPs …. the sweater is dark and ‘moody’ … very atmospheric but beautiful and the crochet stripey blanket certainly looks like it will eventually be very colorful – interesting stitch variation too 🙂

    1. There are so many color combinations with the blanket project. It’s hard for me to be random with the striping, but I’m starting to enjoy it. 🙂
