Warning :: This post has no important content. Just a little humor. And you won’t hurt my feelings if you skip it and move on. 🙂
This morning when I got back from the grocery, I sat down to write a post about our weekend trip to the orchard. The process went something like this.
Before I start writing, I need to choose photos. Oops, they’re still on the phone. I can’t download them until they’re sorted and organized. Then . . .
It is so hard to decide which photos to use. I want to share them all, but that would be way too many for one blog post. Wait . . .
I have a photo blog. I haven’t posted for months, but I could put a link to the remaining photos over there. Except . . .
I can’t have company visiting the photo site without a little freshening up. A new theme perhaps. So . . .
Off I go to search through 297 themes looking for the one that’s just right. Oh dear . . .
~J~ is home for lunch and I’ve been “working” on the computer all morning. Let’s run out for a quick bite to eat and . . .
Then I can get the post finished started. Oh, wait . . .
I haven’t picked a new theme for the photo blog yet. Let’s just go back to the original theme. OK . . .
Janet, you are totally off track and not accomplishing anything. Maybe . . .
I’ll just do a quick post about being distracted and promise to share the orchard trip tomorrow. You know . . .
If I could find a clip art pic about wasting time, that would be sort of funny. Seriously? . . .
Focus, Janet, focus. Nope, I’ve lost interest.
I think I’ll just go knit.
Someone please tell me I’m not the only one that has days like this.
I will share the orchard trip tomorrow and just go knit now. 🙂
I feel the same.

Well, it happens. I’ve got my undies in a was because my computer has been rendering a 3D image for 3 days so I couldn’t open Photoshop or everything crashed. Of course this is when I wanted to update my photoblog AND upload new photos from camera and various other stuff, so I’d go hey, I’ll work on…. oh, no I won’t. Render is done, turns out there is a mysterious purple artifact in there that was not there last time I used the file (but I only had a very tiny version). So if I find it – do I start over? LOL I must learn to divert my energy to more possible activities.

You’re not the only one. It’s surprisingly difficult to write one simple blog post…

Janet, you are so *not* alone on having distracted days when ideas, thoughts, decisions seem to lead to nowhere in particular and nothing really gets done. Sometimes I *think* it’s because we are meant to be doing something other than what it is we *think* we want to do or should be doing.
Hope the knitting was soothing and went well … with no tipsy topsy turvy distractions. 🙂

blogs can be rabbit holes that you never leave! I try to have ideas lined up in my head for postings but when i want to change the header….well that takes hours!

So true. The writing would be easier sometimes if I didn’t get so hung up on the photos and graphics.

You’re not alone – trust me. Actually, I have a similar internal dialogue whenever I sit down to blog. I always swear to myself that I’m uploading the pics right away next time, so how come it keeps happening???
