Hooray for Friday! Autumn is my favorite season and it’s been showing itself in many ways.. Cooler temperatures, bright sunshine, falling leaves. The colors of autumn have been on my mind all week. Inspired by some of the lovely mixed-fiber scarves and shawls spotted at the Art Show last weekend, I’ve been doing a deep, deep stash dive looking for the materials to make some of my own.
The Harvest Leaves scarf is made from four different yarns — mohair/metallic blend, homespun, art yarn and acrylic — crocheted in a chain stitch. Two different lengths are attached and tied, leaving a 5-6 inch fringe.
Autumn Confetti scarf is a single chain of five yarns and ribbons held together, approximately 78 inches plus fringe. I’d love to tell you all the yarns used, but they came from a really deep dive into bags of scraps with no labels. This is my favorite so far. I wore it out on errands this morning. 🙂
This has been such fun. I’ve really enjoyed putting the colors and textures together. I bought some supplies yesterday to make a few more. Something a little wider and bulkier. Oh . . . the possibilities.
I hope you’ve had a nice week. Enjoy your weekend!
