Wednesday’s Progress Check

Happy Wednesday!

DSCN1299 copyOn the needles . . . a modified version of the Casu Cowl.  The original pattern calls for a provisional cast on and grafted ends.  I’m all about not seaming if I can find another way.  So I’m following another Raveler’s directions for knitting the cowl in the round.  I’ve had this Red Heart Boutique Midnight for a while (to be honest, I don’t even remember buying it), loved the colors and thought it would be a good match for the pattern.  So far, I’m really pleased and it’s knitting up very quickly.

On the bookshelf . . . is How to Marry an English Lord by Gail MacColl Carol McD. Wallace.  The book is about American heiresses who traded large dowries for British titles and was the inspiration for characters on Downton Abbey.  It’s very interesting so far.  I’m also finishing Hand Lettering by Marci Donley and DeAnn Singh.  I’ve been interested in developing new lettering styles for journaling.  When I’ve finished reading, I’ll start working in a practice journal and see how it goes.

So.  How goes your Wednesday?  I hope you’re staying safe and warm.

♥  Janet

  2. Your cowl looks great! I am totally into knitting in the round if it avoids me having to sew anything! I tell my friends that I’m “allergic” to sewing…

  3. Thanks for the link, Janet; I just finished printing off Casu. Love your yarn! I recently finished Clara and Mr. Tiffany and really enjoyed it. Finished a quilt today for my oldest GS!

  4. Q – Love the colors and pattern in the cowl. Wish I could touch the screen and feel the texture!

LOVE typography! One of my favorite areas to teach in my graphic arts classes. Will definitely check out Hand Lettering!
