Wednesday Progress Check {10}

Happy Wednesday!

See the red maple buds behind the shivering doves?

Just wanted to start with a weather update.  Like many, we had more snow yesterday.  Fine, wet snow coated the trees, grass and plants.  We had white-out conditions a few time in the afternoon.  Everything had melted by the end of the day.  It was a perfect day to sip coffee and knit.

WIP Wednesday ~ 3.26.14

On the needles . . . More progress on the Brickless, a bit more than 2 repeats and the color change has begun.  This skein of Wolle’s Color Changing Cotton starts a sage green, changes to a light blue and ends a medium steel-blue.  I’ve modified the last rows of each pattern repeat to tighten up the bind-off points.  The cotton and I seem to make those points loose and messy.  The mods work well so far.  In the photo, the Brickless is resting in the beginnings of a new project bag.  I’m crocheting this out of stash cotton.

On the shelf . . . Time Flies by Claire Cook is coming to a close.  This isn’t my favorite of her books, but it’s entertaining just the same.  I should finish this week.  Most of last year, the Goodreads Challenge reminded me I was behind schedule on my reading.  This year I’m ahead of the game.  Yea!

Since I started with a winter photo, I thought I’d leave you with this.

~J~ tends several pots of violets that provide cheerful color all year.

How’s your week shaping up?  What projects are you working on?  Enjoy the rest of your week.

  1. This was what March was like here last year (the last previous years in fact, as I recall). You begin to believe it will last forever and ever…. This year the beech has opened its leaves a whole month earlier than ever before they say, I wonder what that will do for the pollen season if the rest follow. I have already noticed that my nights are getting noisier (snoring from the other side of the bed)

  2. What a pretty violet! I love violets but never have been to successful with them. Lovely knitting too … I’m working on a mystery KAL and a Shaelyn shawl, as well as a scarf and socks.

  3. This crazy weather does have it’s good side. If it was nice out, I’d have to be outside doing chores instead of catching up on projects. I can’t wait to see that shawl. I mentioned before that I have some of that cotton and need a shove to get it out of the stash and into a project.

    1. I made another Brickless (it’s in my Ravelry projects) with Wolle’s cotton and fell in love with the color changes. I gave it to my DIL and knew I wanted one for me. 🙂
