FO Friday ~ Hermione’s Everyday Socks

Happy, Happy Friday!

It’s been a while since I’ve had a finished project to share.  I had a cast-on party for a while and now I’m working to get things finished.  First up . . .

Pattern  ::  Hermione’s Everyday Socks by Erica Lueder
Yarn  ::  Plymouth Yarn Happy Feet
Needles  ::  US 1 (2.25 mm)

These socks were a fun knit and the fit is perfect.  The pattern is a free download and very popular on Ravelry (6518 projects).  Lovely, finished socks pop up on blog posts often.

The yarn was a gift from Karen of NothingButKnit ( Thank You! ) and new to me.  I love the tight twist and the finished fabric is lovely.  I know I’ll use this yarn again.  I used the garter stitch edged eye of partridge heel from the pattern, but changed to a rounded toe because it fits me so much better than others.  I highly recommend the pattern if you haven’t already given it a try.

As soon as these socks were finished, I cast on a pair for ~J~.  I like having a pair on the needles and available.  And ~J~ loves handknit socks    🙂

After the snow surprise earlier in the week, spring is in bloom here.  The temperature is going back up and it promises to be a nice weekend.

Enjoy your Easter weekend!

  1. Those socks are beautiful. I haven’t knitted up that pattern yet, but I definitely will. Soon. 🙂

    I knitted several pairs of socks in Happy Feet, and it’s a sock yarn I like very much. It’s substantial and squishy and knits up beautifully. And it seems to wear well, too, in my experience. My only complaint about it is that the yardage is lower than most sock yarns, and I have big feet, so I have to knit socks toe-up when I use Happy Feet.
