It’s a beautiful morning here! As I write this post I’m sitting in a sunbeam, drinking coffee from my new summer cup and listening to the morning birdsong. Perfect! 🙂
On the needles . . . are too many neglected WIPs to even count. Instead of finishing anything, I cast on these two projects a few weeks ago and then stalled again. I don’t even think I’ve shared them here at all.
I’ve turned the heel and am half-way to the toe on the first sock of a pair for ~J~. The pattern is You’ve Got Rhythm by Betsy Lee McCarthy from her book, Knit Socks! The yarn is Brown Sheep Wildfoote Luxury Sock in the handsome hiker colorway. Enjoyable pattern, nice yarn and color. Time to get back to work.
And I started an Annette cardi using a cotton/linen yarn I bought at the fiber festival last year. The yarn is very slubby and varies from light fingering to a heavy worsted. I had to do some fiddling with needle sizes to get a fabric I liked and then some math for cast on. I love this pattern.
On the shelf and Kindle . . . Since my last Wednesday Progress Check (whoa — that was at the end of March) I ::
- finished Time Flies by Claire Cook — I enjoy her books.
- read Sweet Tea Revenge by Laura Childs — Love the author and her Tea Shop Mystery series.
- read Divergent by Veronica Roth — L•O•V•E this book. Read it in a matter of days, which is unheard of for me.
- started Insurgent by Veronica Roth — Second book in the Divergent series. I’m about 75% of the way through and loving it too.
Yes, it was a good month for reading. Goodreads says I’m 2 books ahead of schedule on the 2014 Reading Challenge goal of 20 books. Yea me!
There you have it. How’s your week shaping up?
