Happy Wednesday! I have a new project to share today. All the other WIPs have been put on hold because I just couldn’t wait any longer to cast on.
Earlier this summer when the Kids were visiting, ~R~ and I developed a plan to turn a triangular shawl into a modified shrug. The side points would be attached in the back, making armholes. Next, we looked through my shawls (I’d forgotten how many have been knit over the years) to see if we could find a size that would work. And we did! ~R~ liked the size, shape, texture and lace pattern.
~R~ picked a beautiful gradient yarn from The Unique Sheep. The colorway comes in six, 100 yd skeins. I have to admit that the instructions for managing color transitions between skeins were a bit daunting at first. There was no need for worry. They were clear and easy to follow.
So . . . here’s the first skein and half the first transition. I’ve been texting photos to ~R~ and we’re both pretty pleased.
The Ulmus is resting right now so that I can finish ~J~’s socks by Friday. It shouldn’t take long and it’s only fair since he did listen to my math mutterings. 🙂
What are you working on this week?
