Stash Dash 2015

stash dash 2015
WIPs have been rounded up for Stash Dash 2015.

Stash Dash 2015 officially begins today!  Hosted on Ravelry by The Knit Girllls podcast group, rules and FAQs can be found here.  I’m always looking for a way to reduce the WIPs and yarn/fiber stash.  And that’s exactly the goal of the group activity.

Basically

  • Knit/crochet/spin/weave from stash! Every meter of yarn used from 5/22 to 8/14 counts toward your goal.
  • If you finish a WIP after 5/22, regardless of when you started, you get to count the total for the entire project.

There are three finish lines this year — 3K, 5K, or 10K and I’ll be dashing for 3K.  That’s 3000 meters/3,281 yards.

And . . . I have my first FO.  Miss Sappho is coming to visit again this summer and now she’ll have her very own bed.

Sappho's Cat Bowl
Little Bunny is showing off Sappho’s new bed.

Pattern  ::  Crochet Round Cat Bed by Humbug Designs
Yarn  ::  Loops & Threads Impeccable in fern, butterscotch and white
Hook Size N (9 mm)

This is a quick, fantastic stash busting project.  I used 3 strands of yarn held together (the pattern calls for 4 strands) and added a couple of decrease rounds to the top to give it a little more shape.  ~T~ and Sappho arrive tonight and we’ll see if she likes it.

So . . . that’s 546 yards of stash used and 166.7 meters counted for Stash Dash (only 1 strand counts).  Yea!

Happy Friday, friends.  Enjoy your weekend!

  1. That is so cute! I may have to give the bed a go, they look cool for rescue centres with the bonus of them being washable! ❤

  2. Well, just decided to participate in stash dash. Thanks! (That is not the least bit sarcastic, I found out about too late last year!)
