A couple of years ago, I began to choose a word to help me find a focus for the new year. A list of goals are too easy for me to forget or ignore as the year progresses. One word as a guide works for me. Previous words have been Balance (2014) and Step (2015).
This year, I’ve chosen the word ::
ACTION
-
the fact or process of doing something, typically to achieve an aimsynonyms: measures · steps · activity · movement
-
a thing done; an act
synonyms: deed · act · move · experience -
a manner or style of doing something, typically the way in which a mechanism works or a person moves
In 2016 I’m ready to hold on to good habits, make some changes and give new things a try. It’s time to branch out. I’m counting on my word and new habits to help me make some changes here on the blog as well.
How do you organize your new year? Do you make resolutions? goals? have specific intentions? I wish you well in your journeys.

I can’t wait to see what you branch out into, Janet. I usually don’t make resolutions b/c I know I’d fail them. But this year I have some goals in mind.

That’s a great word. Very energizing!
I am not very organized, and I tend to stick to the same goals: be more organized, be more thankful, slow down.

The only resolution I made this year was to not make any because I never do what I saw I am going to do unless I am already doing it. I wish I had a dollar for every blog post I have written where I make big plans for something that never happens. My word needs to be…goodness, I can’t even think of a word that means to follow through on you ideas.

nice word! I tend to list intentions that I want to focus on, my main one is health and a better more improved menu 🙂 for both of us of course.
